Man Wah

Man Wah is the family-run Chinese takeaway on Askern's Moss Road parade, a few doors from the Panino pizza shop in the same row of village units. The kitchen runs the Cantonese village-takeaway range — salt-and-pepper variations, sweet-and-sour dishes, the standard chow-mein and curry section and the chip-shop crossover sides that fill the late-evening trade. The shop trades cash only and works both counter collection and a short-radius delivery round across Askern and the immediate surrounding villages. Aggregated reviewer scores on Restaurantji and TripAdvisor lean positive, with the photographic reviews repeatedly picking out the portion sizes, the friendly counter and the quick turnaround on the standard dishes; the comment section runs the usual mixed picture for a small village Chinese, but the regulars are loyal. Closed Tuesday is the long-standing rest day.
