Fish Bits is run by John Xenofomtos from a family with a long history in the fish-and-chip business, and trades from the Hyde Park section of Carr House Road as one of Doncaster's most consistently-recognised chippies — TripAdvisor's top-ranked Doncaster chippy across multiple polling rounds and a regular finalist in the Doncaster Free Press annual chippy competition. The operation runs two formats from the same site: the chippy counter for traditional walk-in fish-and-chips trade, and a separate restaurant next door for proper sit-in service with table bookings.

The board runs proper traditional British fish-and-chips at the centre — battered cod and haddock, scampi, fishcakes, traditional pies and chip-shop curry sauce — with the extensive sides menu that has carried the shop into the praise from reviewers above-and-beyond the typical chippy template. The Carr House Road position comes with the unusual benefit of free private car parking, a meaningful selling point given the central Doncaster parking pressure, and the Hyde Park location gives the shop a settled inner-suburban catchment alongside the visitors driving in for the chippy reputation alone.
