About Edlington Chinese
Edlington Chinese is a long-running village Chinese takeaway sitting on the Broomhouse Lane row that runs through the heart of the older Edlington estate, a short walk down from the Martinwells Lake. The menu is the standard South Yorkshire Chinese-takeaway list — sweet-and-sour and black-bean sauces, beef and chicken curries, chow-mein and fried-rice combinations, salt-and-pepper variations and a chip-shop crossover range with battered sausages and chips that the regulars order in alongside the Chinese.
The kitchen runs a collection trade plus a local delivery radius covering the surrounding Edlington and Warmsworth streets. The shop opens evenings only, six nights a week, and is one of two long-standing Chinese takeaways in the village — competing against the Lucky Star on the Central Terrace side for the local weekend trade. Pricing sits at the village-takeaway end rather than the larger Doncaster-town-centre Chinese, and the set-meal combinations are popular with the Friday and Saturday family trade. No sit-in service.
