Maa Indian Restaurant opened on Ladygate in November 2016 after a three-year closure and complete refurbishment of the building that had previously housed Mirchi. The three business partners — Mohammed Saif, Khaled Ahmed, and Salinoi Miah — built the concept around recreating the comfort food their mothers cook at home, using good, healthy, and fresh ingredients. That philosophy has translated into one of Beverley's best-reviewed Indian restaurants: a 4.5 Google rating from over five hundred and fifty reviews, with more than eighty per cent of customers rating it excellent. Staff member Chris is singled out in multiple reviews for exceptional attention to dietary requirements. Sit-down dining and takeaway are both available on Ladygate, a short walk from Saturday Market and the Minster.
