Dr Vinegars Extraordinary Fish & Chips

A newcomer that quickly made a name for itself, Dr Vinegars Extraordinary Fish & Chips opened in 2024 and is the latest venture from a family with deep roots in Black Country frying. Carrying on traditions from the much-loved Major's of Bilston, the shop serves proper Cod and Chips and famously keeps the regional speciality of bright Orange Chips alive for the many locals who grew up on them. It is a small, welcoming spot that has won over Oldbury fast.

Word has spread quickly: in 2025 it was named among the West Midlands' best chippies in a regional newspaper round-up voted for by readers. Inside you will find a clean, friendly little shop where the batter comes out light and crunchy and every piece of fish is cooked fresh to order. Beyond the classics there are kebabs and all the usual chip-shop extras to choose from. For this part of Sandwell it is a genuinely independent addition, and the early buzz suggests Dr Vinegars is here to stay as a firm local favourite.
