Seafood goes further than most local Chinese menus: lobster with ginger and spring onion or in black bean sauce, oysters both deep-fried crispy and stir-fried with ginger, plus squid, mussels and king prawns with mange tout. The starters section is the longest on the menu at over thirty, and it is where crispy aromatic lamb sits beside the more familiar crispy aromatic duck, sold by the quarter, half or whole. Tofu is treated properly in the vegetable section, with mapo tofu, salt and pepper tofu, tofu with Chinese mushrooms and bamboo shoots and tofu in black bean sauce, alongside stir-fried pak choy and aubergine. Fried rice is unusually specific, with versions built on broccoli, pineapple, mixed vegetables, or roast duck with pork over egg fried rice. A short drinks list runs to beer, chilled white, red and rice wine, which is rare for a takeaway. Set meals scale from one person to four.
