Anaj Indian Takeaway

Anaj operates from within the Astolat, a pub on Old Palace Road close to Guildford Cathedral — the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, whose distinctive 1960s redbrick tower at Stag Hill is a landmark of the western skyline. The takeaway kitchen runs a broad north Indian menu: chicken and lamb curries, balti dishes including balti chicken tikka, tandoori grills, Bombay aloo and mutter paneer, all available for delivery via Uber Eats and Deliveroo. A food hygiene inspection in June 2025 confirmed active trading at the site. The location near the cathedral and the university's Stag Hill campus gives Anaj a mixed catchment of students, cathedral-area residents and the professional households of the Old Palace Road neighbourhood — an area named for the long-demolished Guildford Palace once associated with Edward III.
