Caspian Pizza

Caspian Pizza is an established town-centre takeaway on Uxbridge Street, on the south-west edge of Burton-upon-Trent's shopping core. It runs the typical independent-shop split of pizzas at the front of the menu, kebabs, burgers and southern-fried chicken to fill out the late-evening trade. Google reviews settle around 4.3 — a higher score than most of its direct High Street competition — and regular write-ups consistently mention the friendliness of the staff and quick remakes when a delivery comes out cold.

The pizza side is where it earns its name: a wide topping list from the standard pepperoni and meat-feast builds through to chicken tikka and donner-meat versions, made up to 14 inches. Kebabs are doner-and-chicken on the spit, served wrapped, in a tray or on a pitta plate with salad and chilli sauce. Chicken comes both as wings and strips and as half-and-quarter southern-fried portions, with chips.

Trade is collection and delivery rather than sit-in. A useful late option in the Uxbridge Street end of central Burton, with hours stretching well past most of the High Street pubs' kitchen close.
