About Daquise Restaurant
Daquise at 20 Thurloe Street in South Kensington SW7 is a historic Polish restaurant that has been a fixture since 1947. It was a meeting place for Polish exiles and artists in the post-war decades, and Roman Polanski was a regular customer. The restaurant serves traditional Polish cooking: borscht, pierogi dumplings, bigos hunter's stew, zurek sour rye soup, kielbasa sausage, golonka pork knuckle. South Kensington SW7 is home to the Natural History Museum, Science Museum and Victoria and Albert Museum — collectively holding collections of world importance. Daquise is one of the oldest Polish restaurants in London and has survived every era of the neighbourhood's transformation.
