Olley's Fish Experience

Olley's Fish Experience at 65-69 Norwood Road in Herne Hill SE24 has been serving exceptional fish and chips opposite Brockwell Park for 36 years. Hardens' 2024 review calls it "excellent fish 'n' chips" and notes the pleasure of eating a takeaway in Brockwell Park opposite. The restaurant is named from Charles Dickens's Oliver Twist, in which the narrator refers to fish and chips as Londoners's favourite dish — a prescient observation that has proved entirely correct. Harry Niazi has run Olley's for nearly four decades, building it from a neighbourhood chippy into a destination that draws customers from across South London. Brockwell Park itself is one of London's finest Victorian parks, with its famous open-air lido.
