Kervan Sofrasi

Kervan Sofrasi on Hertford Road is the flagship branch of one of North London's best-known Turkish restaurant groups, a beloved Edmonton institution and British Kebab Awards nominee with an impeccable 5-star hygiene rating. FeedTheLion visited and described it as an "invitingly cosy" restaurant with a warmly lit wooden interior decorated with a caravan of camels -- a visual reference to the restaurant's name (kervan means caravan in Turkish). The charcoal grill is the heart of the kitchen: meats are prepared and seasoned throughout the day ready for the high-heat coals, and the result is outstanding: tender lamb chops served with rice, bulgur, pickles and caramelised onion were called "simply outstanding" by one reviewer.
