About Tbilisi
Tbilisi is a long-established Georgian restaurant at 91 Holloway Road, named after the capital city of Georgia and a Holloway institution for over 13 years. Ideal Magazine includes it in its guide to the best restaurants on Holloway Road: "Tbilisi Restaurant has stood on Holloway Road for over 13 years and has long been a local place for those in-the-know, offering an eating experience and the warm Georgian welcome the country so prides itself in." Yelp updated July 2025. The restaurant's own website describes its cooking as "award-winning," bringing an authentic, vibrant taste of Georgian cuisine to the UK, with food rich in spices and fresh Georgian herbs.
The menu showcases the distinctive cuisine of the Caucasus: starter highlights include badrijani nigvzit (aubergines stuffed with walnut paste and garlic), lobiani (spiced bean bread) and pkhali (spinach and walnut rolls). The star main course dish is khinkali -- large, juicy Georgian dumplings filled with spiced meat or mushrooms -- which the waitress recommends to every first-time visitor. Grilled meats, stews and hearty Georgian sharing platters complete the menu. Open daily from 18:30. Website: tbilisi-restaurant.co.uk.
