About Farang
Farang in Highbury N5 is one of North London's most celebrated restaurants. Chef-owner Sebby Holmes started as a street food stall in 2015, then took over his stepfather's Italian trattoria San Daniele at 72 Highbury Park in 2017 as a pop-up — and never left. Farang has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand every year since 2019, appears in the National Restaurant Awards Top 100, and holds Thai Select 2-star status from the UK Thai Embassy. Fresh produce is shipped directly from Bangkok each week. Holmes — formerly head chef at Smoking Goat in Soho and sous chef at The Begging Bowl in Peckham — has also published two cookbooks: Cook Thai and Thai in 7. Farang means 'foreigner' in Thai, an honest acknowledgement that this is Thai food made with love by a British chef rather than strict cultural ownership.
Available for dine-in at 72 Highbury Park, Highbury N5. Book via faranglondon.co.uk. Open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, Saturday lunch.
