A May 2025 reviewer calls it "very nice and cosy" with staff who make an "unforgettable experience." One first-time visitor says: "Petek is an absolute gem -- my new weekend spot. The chicken shish was so soft and well-cooked I was shocked. We had to get dessert as soon as we saw the baklavas with pistachio ice cream... incredible!" The restaurant seats a lively crowd under hundreds of multi-coloured glass lights that give it the feel of an Istanbul souk. Diners are greeted with complimentary warm pitta bread, olives and spicy tomatoes as soon as they sit down. The set meze for two (from £7-9 per person) fills the table with small dishes, from hummus and borek to babaganush and kisir. Main dishes include a showstopping mixed grill platter, lamb kofte, chicken and lamb shish, and fresh sea bass. Everything is cooked over charcoal. Good vegetarian options. Booking recommended.
