About Margot Bakery
Margot Bakery is one of the most acclaimed artisan bakeries in North London — a 100% vegetarian and vegan bakery-café at 121 East End Road in East Finchley, founded by Michelle Eshkeri and recommended by the Good Food Guide. The official eastfinchley.london directory notes that "the changing bakery menu is guided by customer favourites, festivals, celebrations and seasonal produce" and that "the bread and pastries, including babka, brioche and croissants, are leavened with sourdough to make the best baked goods possible." Food Hygiene inspected July 2025 (active); Companies House registration active.
The daily-changing menu centres on long-fermentation sourdough breads using whole grains and organically and locally sourced ingredients: the Margot sourdough loaf, sourdough challah, Finchley sticks and focaccia are all regular highlights. Croissants and viennoiserie are sourdough-leavened for a distinctive, deeply flavoured result. For lunch, the kitchen offers soup, sandwiches and salads alongside the baked goods. Coffee is sourced from Climpson and Sons. A small eat-in area is available. A second branch has since opened in Highgate. Website: margotbakery.co.uk.
