St John''s Tavern on Junction Road in Archway N19 reopened in October 2025 following a £1 million refurbishment by Urban Pubs and Bars, the group behind The Gun in Spitalfields and the Salt Yard group. The 19th-century tavern has been renewed throughout while preserving its historic layout. OpenTable ranks it as the best reviewed restaurant in Archway. The menu under Urban Pubs & Bars emphasises elevated British pub cooking: Maldon rock oysters with apple and horseradish vinegar, scallops with leek cream and bacon, cock-a-leekie pie, slow-cooked lamb shoulder to share, aged Hereford burger, 28-day aged ribeye, and oysters at £2 each every Thursday. Junction Road is the heart of Archway''s restaurant quarter.
