About Brothers Cafe and Restaurant

Brothers Cafe and Restaurant is an outstanding Somali restaurant on the High Road in Tottenham, one of three London locations (also in Hayes and Holloway) run by the Brothers team. Wheree updated March 2026. The Infatuation reviewed it and awarded a score of 8 out of 10, describing it as "an excellent Somali restaurant in Bruce Grove that's perfect for groups looking for big flavours and impeccable lamb" and placing it firmly on their must-try list. Their review continues: "The plates of rice coming from Brothers' kitchen are so deep with flavour that you might write a seductive sounding note in your phone that reads 'fragrant, bit sensual'. Every spoon of rice mixes sweetness with salty, turmeric and cinnamon-tasting flecks of onion. Topped with a hunk of lamb shank, so weak at the knees that the pink meat gives up before you've even lifted your fork, it is a truly fantastic feast of a platter." Wheree reviewers describe "generous portions and excellent value -- meals fed five people for £50; succulent lamb suqaar and perfectly spiced beef dishes." The lemon meat soup is particularly praised. Instagram active.

The menu centres on authentic Somali cooking: bariis iskukaris (spiced Somali rice with turmeric, cinnamon and onion) served with grilled meats including tender lamb shank, lamb suqaar (diced sautéed lamb), beef stew and chicken. Basbaas, the sharp and fiery Somali chilli sauce, accompanies every meal. Generous sharing platters are designed for groups of 3-5 people. Separate dining areas for women and families. The atmosphere is relaxed and communal, welcoming solo diners and large groups alike. Halal certified throughout.
