Taste of Nawab

Taste of Nawab is one of Muswell Hill's most celebrated restaurants, a Bangladeshi and Indian dining institution on Colney Hatch Lane with almost three decades of history. In 2025/26 it was awarded the Good Food Award Gold Seal and the Currylife Best Restaurant of the Year award. TripAdvisor has recognised it with the Travellers' Choice Award for five consecutive years, placing it in the top 10% of restaurants worldwide. Head chef Bablu Hussain and manager Abdul Rahman run a restaurant deeply embedded in the local community: during the pandemic they delivered free meals to NHS workers and vulnerable residents, and over the years have supported local school fetes, street parties and fundraisers. OpenTable describes it as serving "exquisitely spiced Indian and Bengali cuisine."

The menu is a carefully crafted tour of Bangladeshi and regional Indian cooking, with dishes that reflect different regions of India alongside the classic curries and tandoori dishes that have made Taste of Nawab a neighbourhood institution.
