About Charlie Wrights International Bar
Charlie Wrights International Bar was a legendary Hoxton music venue and Thai restaurant at 45 Pitfield Street — formerly The Queen's Head pub, renamed in 1992 after the East End boxer who owned the premises half a century earlier. The venue was internationally renowned for its jazz programming, with luminaries such as Victor Bailey, Dave Binney, Damion Reid and Kurt Rosenwinkel performing on the small stage, alongside an excellent Thai kitchen. The building was demolished in February 2016 and replaced with new flats with bar/restaurant on the ground floor. Permanently closed.
