The Mermaid Takeaway

The Mermaid is a long-established takeaway at the top of Leith Walk, close to the Foot of the Walk junction, serving a broad menu of fish and chips, pizza, kebabs, wraps, burgers and Italian dishes across a list of around 180 items. The shop covers most of the bases expected of a Leith Walk takeaway: a chippy that can also build a pizza, grill a kebab, or wrap a burger, with delivery running across much of Edinburgh. The Foot of the Walk is a busy junction where Leith Walk meets Kirkgate and the Kirkgate Shopping Centre, and the Mermaid's position at this end of the Walk gives it access to one of Leith's highest-footfall corners.
