Spoilt For Choice

Spoilt for Choice is Edinburgh's dedicated Afro-Caribbean takeaway, operating from Marionville Road in the residential pocket east of Easter Road. The kitchen offers what it describes as the first comprehensive Afro-Caribbean selection in Edinburgh — dishes drawing on the Caribbean and West African culinary traditions that most Edinburgh takeaways do not touch. The menu includes Bajan crab cakes, jollof rice and beans, dodo (fried sweet plantain), couscous, Caribbean chicken marinated in Jamaican spices with coconut and pineapple sauce, and a selection of African curry sauces. The food uses largely organic ingredients and is cooked fresh. Spoilt for Choice was listed among Edinburgh's top five restaurants by The List in 2013/14, and TripAdvisor reviews single out the authenticity of the home-cooked flavours.
