Miller's Sandwich Bar occupies a quiet spot on Hope Park Terrace, a short street on the southern fringe of the Meadows close to the Buccleuch Street end. The cafe is a popular morning and lunchtime stop for University of Edinburgh students and staff, particularly from the nearby Bristo Square, George Square and Potterrow facilities. The menu focuses on made-to-order sandwiches, baguettes and paninis with a broad choice of locally sourced ingredients: smoked salmon and cream cheese, haggis and caramelised onion, bacon and brie, and a full vegetarian selection. Three or four specials change daily. The kitchen also serves breakfast rolls and hot drinks from early morning. Reviews consistently highlight the friendly counter staff, the quality and freshness of the bread, and the value for money — the complaint most often raised is that the popular fillings sell out quickly during the midday rush.
