Kam Lo is a Chinese takeaway on Willowbrae Road, a few doors from the Indian competition on the same strip. The family-run kitchen has built a local following in the Piershill and Jocks Lodge residential area over the years, offering a broad Cantonese menu covering soups, starters, chicken, beef, king prawn, roast duck, pork, sweet and sour, curry, chow mein and fried rice dishes. The takeaway operates on a cash-only basis and handles delivery and collection. The kitchen opens daily from early evening. The Food Standards Scotland rating is Pass. Willowbrae Road is a residential artery connecting the Portobello Road with the eastern edge of the area — Kam Lo serves the family housing on both sides of that road rather than the university or tourist trade.
