Kabul City Restaurant on Station Road is one of north London's most respected Afghan dining rooms, praised across TripAdvisor and Yelp for the quality of its charcoal-grilled kebabs and traditional rice dishes. The kitchen's strengths include qabili pilau — saffron and raisin rice crowned with a shank of slow-cooked lamb — mantoo dumplings with garlic sauce, chopan kebabs and vegetarian platters such as banjan burani. The dining room is warm and simply furnished, and the restaurant operates a bring-your-own-alcohol policy with no corkage charge, making an Afghan feast here notably affordable.
