About Balti House
The Balti House has held its Crowle High Street corner for years and is the long-running Indian-and-Bangladeshi takeaway for the Isle of Axholme villages west of the Trent. The shop runs its own baltihouse.uk site as well as the standard delivery-aggregator channels, and trades from a small unit on the central market-town parade alongside Pizza Hot pizza and Golden Hall Chinese further along — between them the three operators give Crowle a small but full takeaway cluster.
The card runs the standard British-curry-house repertoire — tikka and tandoori sections through onion bhaji starters; the full madras-to-korma curry range; chicken tikka masala and lamb biryani as the most regularly-ordered main dishes; vegetarian, gluten-free and kid-friendly options; and a small English-style chicken-and-chip option for the customers who prefer a non-curry plate. The kitchen runs evenings only with Tuesday as the closed day, and pushes the Friday and Saturday close slightly later than the rest of the week. Crowle itself was the canal-side market town drained as part of the 17th-century Isle of Axholme reclamation, and Balti House has become the local Indian default for the surrounding villages.
