About Meze
Meze ran as a Turkish-Mediterranean restaurant on the central Cleethorpes High Street, sitting on the short stretch of the road that runs out of the Market Place towards Cambridge Street and into the Cross Street takeaway cluster. The room was a small-format sit-in restaurant rather than a counter takeaway — table service, kebab grills out the back and a meze-led starter card across hot and cold dips, salads and small plates.
The cuisine angle was the standard Anatolian template: grill-led main courses across char-grilled steaks, mixed mezze platters, combination kebabs in pitta wraps, oven-baked pides, fish dishes, and a long pizza supplement for the family trade. Reviewers on TripAdvisor over the shop's run tended to call out the breadth of the meze section and the grill quality on the lamb-shish and chicken-shish plates.
The position on Cleethorpes High Street put the restaurant a few doors along from Topkapi, the long-running Turkish-led kebab takeaway on the same row. The High Street itself runs through the centre of the town, with the Market Place to one side and the seafront approach to the other, making it one of the busier eating-out stretches in central Cleethorpes outside Sea View Street.
