About China Garden
China Garden is one of the longest-established food businesses on Wrawby Street — the main shopping spine through Brigg, the North Lincolnshire market town famous for the Wednesday market and the Brigg Fair immortalised by Frederick Delius. The business has been family-run in the historic market town since 1989, which makes it one of the oldest continuously trading independent Chinese takeaways in the area, and the shop has steadily built up a 90-plus review pool on Restaurantji and a decent local following on Tripadvisor and Facebook. The menu runs to the usual British-Cantonese classics — sweet-and-sour, crispy beef, salted prawns, spare ribs, chow-mein — alongside a small Thai red curry section that is unusual for a takeaway of this generation. Reviewers consistently praise the quality and speed of cooking and the friendly front-of-house, although a recent price rise has drawn a few sharper comments. Trading is evenings-only with the kitchen closed Monday and Tuesday, which keeps the cooking responsive and the operation built around the weekend rush.
