Great China in Ratby village has become one of the area's most celebrated Chinese takeaways, with reviewers declaring it the best Chinese they have had in years after it reopened. Specific dishes praised include beef chow mein described as incredible, crispy chilli and salt chips, chicken satay and barbecued ribs. The kitchen focuses on a tightly curated Cantonese menu emphasising freshness and quality over volume. Ratby is a village west of Leicester just into the LE6 area, served by this family-run kitchen four evenings a week. Note: the most recent FSA inspection recorded an improvement notice, though the kitchen has since been praised for quality by recent reviewers.
