The Balti Cuisine

The Balti Cuisine on Market Street in Atherton is one of the oldest Indian operations on the street, trading under this name since at least the 1990s. The kitchen covers a wide range of North Indian dishes — balti preparations, tandoori, biryani, traditional curries and house specials — with the balti name reflecting the Midland-influenced North Indian cooking style that defined the British curry boom of the late twentieth century. Market Street in Atherton is competitive and The Balti Cuisine has maintained its position through consistent cooking over many decades.
