Ushas Indian Street Food

Usha's is a sit-down Indian street-food restaurant at the very foot of Byres Road, designed around tapas-sized sharing plates rather than standard curry-house portions. The menu was created in consultation with Sameer Sehgal, formerly of The Dorchester Hotel in London and latterly head chef at Amal Armani in Dubai, giving it a more considered provenance than most West End Indian options. Signature dishes include chilli king prawns, tender lamb with okra, and tandoori sea bass — none of them predictable. Vegetarian and vegan options are plentiful. Reservations are recommended at weekends. The room is compact and warmly lit, drawing a mix of university staff, local professionals and couples looking for something a step above the standard Byres Road curry.
