Sugar and Spice took over the Sauchiehall Street unit that previously housed the much-loved Cafe Salma, and has built its own following with a menu that ranges wider than most takeaways on this stretch. Moroccan-influenced dishes — tajine and harira fassia — sit alongside Indian curries, homemade burgers, grills and pizzas, giving the kitchen a genuinely unusual flavour range. The dessert menu is the other talking point: an extensive selection of sweets, ice cream and milkshakes makes this as much a destination for an after-cinema sugar hit as for a full meal. Delivery covers the surrounding postcodes and the kitchen runs late into the evening, which suits the area's mix of students, concert-goers and late-shift workers.
