Shish Mahal Express

Shish Mahal Express on Gibson Street is the takeaway arm of Glasgow's most famous Indian restaurant family — the Ali family whose original Shish Mahal on Gibson Street is credited by some food historians with giving the world Chicken Tikka Masala in the 1970s. The flagship restaurant moved to Park Road after subsidence, but the Express branch brings the Shish Mahal name back to its original Gibson Street territory. Expect the classic dishes that made the name: Chicken Tikka Masala, Shish Kebabs, and a full North Indian menu executed with the care of a family that has been cooking for Glasgow for over sixty years.
