Golden City has been trading on Smithycroft Road in Riddrie since 1994, making it one of the longest-established Chinese takeaways in north-east Glasgow. The family business keeps its menu firmly in Cantonese territory — chop suey, roast duck, rice dishes, and a chicken curry that locals regard as a benchmark. Salt and pepper chips and satay skewers have become popular additions over the years. Weekend evenings draw a loyal crowd and the kitchen can get busy, so early orders pay off.
