Cafe Avanti

Café Avanti has been Partick's best traditional chip shop and café since 1959, trading from Merkland Street a few minutes' walk from Partick rail and subway station. The kitchen runs from early morning through to the evening, making it as much a breakfast and lunch destination as an evening chippy. The menu covers Scottish classics — fish suppers, haggis, steak pie and mash — alongside freshly made pizza, oven-baked or fried. Dine-in is available inside the café; takeaway and delivery round out the offer. Dog-friendly, family-friendly, and genuinely welcoming in the way that older-generation Partick businesses tend to be. A neighbourhood institution that has outlasted many a trendier successor on Dumbarton Road.
