Buddy's BBQ and Burgers on Pollokshaws Road brought a slice of 1950s American roadside diner culture to the Strathbungo stretch of Glasgow's South Side. Red leather booths, a jukebox and a menu built around beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked ribs and grilled chicken have made it a Southside institution since it opened in December 2012 — what the founders called Glasgow's most famous takeaway at the time. The sit-in bar, diner and grill followed the following year, broadening it into a full destination. More than 2,000 reviews with an 84 per cent recommendation rate reflect genuine loyalty. Burger quality and the broad smoked barbecue range are the recurring highlights. Both dine-in and takeaway are available, with cocktails alongside the American-style food and drinks menu.
