Bar Soba

Bar Soba has been a fixture in Mitchell Lane since 1999, when it opened as one of Glasgow's first dedicated Pan-Asian bar-restaurants. The narrow cobbled lane linking Buchanan Street to the Merchant City suits its identity well: a Far Eastern drinking den with Asian murals, lantern lighting, and a menu drawn from the night markets of Southeast Asia. Pulled pork bao buns, dragon prawn noodles, cauliflower katsu curry and a proper pad thai are among the dishes that have built a loyal following. The cocktail list is inventive — yakuza sake cocktails sit alongside classic twists — and on weekend evenings the music lifts and DJs take over, steering the room towards pre-club territory.
