Sweet Treats operates from the St James Retail Park in East Kilbride, the major out-of-town retail complex on the western side of Scotland's largest new town. The format is a dessert-and-shake operator — waffles, sundaes, milkshakes and sweet bakery items — that has grown in popularity across Scottish retail parks in recent years, drawing the family and younger crowd that the traditional retail-park food courts overlook. East Kilbride supports a substantial out-of-town retail footprint, with St James Retail Park sitting alongside the East Kilbride Shopping Centre (Scotland's largest covered shopping complex) and Princes Square. Sweet Treats serves both the daytime shopping trade and the post-school family market that builds through the early evening.
