About Sun Shing
Sun Shing is the long-running Chinese takeaway on Falconwood Parade — the short row of shops on The Green that serves the residential streets around Falconwood station, where the Borough of Bexley meets Greenwich and Eltham. It is the kind of small parade where the same takeaways have been trading for decades and the names on the shopfronts are familiar to two generations of locals. Sun Shing has held its place there as the neighbourhood Cantonese, a few doors from Falcon Tandoori and a handful of other independents.
The menu is the broad standard Cantonese-British set: sweet-and-sour pork or chicken in batter, satay sauces, chow mein and singapore-style noodles, sizzling and stir-fried beef dishes, set menus for two and three, and crispy aromatic duck pancakes. Reviews on Yelp, Restaurant Guru and the local Cylex listings are largely positive on the cooking — several regulars specifically mention that the dishes do not taste oversalted or heavy with MSG, which is unusual praise for a small high-street Chinese — and on the friendly counter service. Card and cash are both accepted; collection is the main trade, with delivery via the usual aggregators across the Falconwood and Welling postcodes.
