Ocean City Swallow

Ocean City Swallow is the Chinese (and lightly Thai- and Japanese-leaning) takeaway at the eastern end of Falconwood Parade on The Green, the small shopping row that serves the residential streets between Welling and Eltham on the western edge of the Borough of Bexley. The shop took over an older Chinese takeaway pitch on the Parade and has built itself a steady local following over the past decade — Companies House records the operating company from 2013 — alongside Falcon Tandoori, Sun Shing and the other long-running independents that share this short parade.

The menu is broader than the standard Cantonese list, with the kitchen also running through a handful of Thai-style noodle and curry dishes, salt-and-pepper preparations, and some lighter, more refined plating than the deep-fried-everything end of the takeaway spectrum. Regulars on Restaurant Guru, Just Eat and Google reviews call out the kung pao chicken, the dim sum starters, the generous portions and the freebie prawn crackers and fortune cookies that come with most orders.
