Antalya Kebab House

Antalya Kebab House — now also trading as Antalya Turkish Grill in some listings — is the Turkish charcoal kebab shop a few doors down from the centre of the Blackfen Road parade, working from the same corner unit for over a decade. The shop is a counter-and-grill operation rather than a sit-down restaurant; the front window sees customers in for collection orders, and the rear of the unit is given over to a Turkish ocakbasi grill and the rotating vertical doner spits.

The kitchen pitches itself on cooking the kebabs over real charcoal rather than gas, with the marinades, chilli sauce and garlic sauce all made on the premises rather than bought in — a practical point the owners flag explicitly. The menu runs through doner, chicken doner, lamb shish, chicken shish, mixed grill, adana and a small wrap-and-burger section, alongside grilled chops, kofte and a kids' menu. Salad pots, hummus and stuffed-vine-leaf cold mezze round out the cold counter. The shop is open into the small hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday — closer to midnight than the standard 11pm cut-off most of the parade keeps — which makes it useful for the post-pub trade out of the Wellington and the Jolly Fenman down the road.
