Happy House sits on Rochester Road in Burham, a village in the Medway valley south of Rochester, serving a Chinese takeaway menu to residents of this riverside settlement and the surrounding rural fringe. Burham is a small community that predates the expansion of Rochester as a city, retaining some of its village character despite its proximity to the urban centre. The kitchen covers the standard Cantonese-British range of stir-fries, rice dishes, noodles, sweet and sour preparations, and roast duck, with delivery going out to the Burham area and the villages of the Medway valley. It fills an important gap in an area where food delivery options are more limited than in the towns across the river.
