Loon Fung

New Loon Fung is the long-running Chinese takeaway on Longfield's Station Road parade, a short walk from the railway station and very much part of the village shopping strip rather than a destination restaurant. The shop has been trading under the Loon Fung / New Loon Fung name for many years and is the only Cantonese option in central Longfield itself — the other Chinese operations in the wider area sit out in New Ash Green or further down the line towards Sole Street.

The menu sticks to the standard British-Cantonese template — soups and sweet-and-sour at one end, chow mein, curry, fried rice and the usual set-meal combinations at the other — with no real Sichuan or regional pretence. Trading hours are evenings only, with Tuesdays closed (a long-standing pattern at this shop, not a temporary closure). The regulars who give it good reviews tend to talk about consistency rather than flair; the less positive reviews on TripAdvisor tend to centre on price-per-portion comparisons with other Chinese options outside the village. Collection-led with a small local delivery radius into Longfield, Hartley and New Barn.
