About YO Sushi
YO! Sushi at Bluewater sits inside the Lower Guild Mall, in the unit linked to the House of Fraser anchor, and is one of two Japanese options on this side of the centre. It is part of the long-running YO! conveyor-belt chain (founded in London in 1997, now trading as YO!) and runs the standard conveyor-belt format: dishes circulate around a curved bar on coloured plates, customers pick what they want, and the bill is calculated by the plate count at the end.
The menu spans the chain's familiar repertoire — nigiri and maki sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, hot bowls, the much-praised chicken katsu curry, ramen including the spicy seafood version, edamame, gyoza, miso soup and the small-plate snacks that fill in around a main meal. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu, and a kids' selection is available.
The Bluewater site has wheelchair access and Wi-Fi, and operates as a proper sit-down dining room with takeaway as a secondary offering. As one of the more accessible introductions to Japanese eating for shoppers who would not otherwise step into a sushi specialist, it has done a steady trade since the shopping centre opened in 1999. For directory purposes, it is the conveyor-belt benchmark for the Greenhithe-and-Bluewater area, and a useful weekend-shopping lunch stop for families coming in off the M25 to Bluewater.
