About Rico Sabor
Rico Sabor occupies one of the more distinctive sites in central Gravesend — the Old Town Hall on the High Street, a Grade II listed building that previously housed the borough's magistrates' court and police station. The original holding cells have been kept and converted into private dining booths, and the rest of the room retains the courtroom-era plasterwork and timber detailing, which gives the restaurant a setting that is hard to match elsewhere in town.
The kitchen runs a Latin American and Spanish menu rather than a strict tapas list — sharing plates, grilled meats, ceviche-style starters, paella and a sizeable nachos section that reviewers single out for portion size — alongside a cocktail-led bar. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are flagged on the menu, and the dining room takes reservations and walk-ins both. Service tends to draw consistent praise on Tripadvisor and OpenTable, and the venue picks up a steady run of birthday, anniversary and group bookings that suit the cell-booth layout. It is one of the few central Gravesend restaurants that trades genuinely on its building as well as its food, and works as the town's default occasion-night sit-down.
