About Pom Pom Fish Bar And Kebabs
Pom Pom Fish Bar is the neighbourhood chip shop on Alford Road, on the residential side of central Erith between West Street and Bexley Road. It is structurally a hybrid — fish and chips at the counter at the front, halal kebabs and burgers off a separate board, with chicken pieces and wraps making up the third leg — which is now the standard configuration for a Bexley-postcode chip shop trying to hold trade across multiple cuisines from one fryer line.
The fish board runs cod, haddock, plaice, rockfish and scampi with chips, and the kebabs cover the donner / chicken-shish / mixed-grill spread, alongside chicken-fillet and quarter-pounder burgers and the inevitable kids meal-deal. All the meat is halal-sourced, which is the structural difference from most of the older non-halal chippies in the area. Free home delivery is offered across central Erith, the Belvedere residential streets and as far west as Abbey Wood, above a small minimum spend.
The Alford Road block is residential rather than commercial, so the shop runs on phone orders and walk-up trade from the immediate streets rather than passing pavement. It closes on Sundays — which is unusual for a chippie — and trades through the afternoon and evening the rest of the week. For the older Erith households who still want a proper chip-shop fish supper, it is the closest local option.
