Fortune Star Chinese Takeaway is the current Chinese operator on the Erith Road unit in Bexleyheath that used to trade as Lam's Garden — the kitchen took over the unit some years ago and has held it since. The shop runs as a takeaway and delivery operation on the standard British-Cantonese template, with an unusually long dim-sum section as the differentiator from the standard parade Chinese — a hint of Cantonese yum-cha tradition in what is otherwise a fairly conventional evening takeaway.

The menu reads as a comprehensive British-Chinese set list — appetisers and dim sum, soups, rice and noodle dishes, the chicken, beef and king prawn sections, foo yung and the long sweet-and-sour and curry repertoire. Trading hours are evenings only, with Friday and Saturday closing a half-hour later than the rest of the week.
