About Bombay Balti House
Bombay Balti House — now also trading as Rahman's Kitchen following an in-house rename — has been the long-running Indian restaurant on the Long Lane parade in Bexleyheath for years. It runs as a proper sit-down restaurant with table service, a small bar selling beer and wine and a waitstaff complement, rather than a takeaway-with-a-couple-of-chairs, which puts it into a more grown-up bracket than most of the kebab and parade-Chinese operators on the same stretch of Long Lane.
The kitchen runs a fairly classic Indian curry-house menu — tandoori starters, masala mains, biryani and a balti section — with the trading style and the loyalty of its repeat customer base what reviewers tend to single out rather than any one signature dish. The owner is consistently named in TripAdvisor reviews for personal welcome and remembering individual orders, which is the kind of thing a sit-down village Indian lives on. Open evenings through to late, with Saturday running an hour later than the rest of the week. Delivery and collection both offered alongside the dining-room trade.
