Root of Spice is the Indian takeaway on Parsonage Manorway in Belvedere, next door to the Wok Inn Chinese counter on the small parade that runs through the residential streets south of the Picardy Manorway redevelopment. The shop trades as a takeaway and delivery operation rather than a sit-down restaurant, and consistently ranks in the upper half of the Belvedere Indian-takeaway tier on the major aggregators.

The kitchen runs the broad British-Indian curry-house repertoire — tandoori starters from the clay oven, traditional curries graded from korma through to madras and vindaloo, balti and karahi dishes, biryanis, fish specials, a long vegetarian board and chef's recommendations. Hours are evening only, running from late afternoon through to 11pm every day of the week. Trade is split between collection from the immediate residential streets and delivery via the shop's own ordering site as well as Just Eat and the other major aggregators across the Belvedere, Erith and Abbey Wood postcodes. Reviews on Tripadvisor and Restaurant Guru are warm on the consistency of the curry house and the value of the meal-deal builds; Tripadvisor ranks the shop in the upper third of Belvedere restaurants.
