Fresh Fry

Fresh Fry is the chip shop and peri-peri counter on Lower Road in Belvedere, on the residential parade that runs along the Lower Road south of the Picardy Manorway and the central Belvedere conservation area. The shop has expanded the traditional British chippy template — battered cod and haddock fried to order, chips, jumbo sausages, saveloys, southern-fried chicken pieces, pies and the usual sides — with a parallel peri-peri grill running flame-grilled chicken in mild, medium and hot, burgers, wraps and chicken bucket meals. The branding is now Fresh Fry & Peri Peri.

The combined offer sets the shop apart from the more single-purpose chippies elsewhere in Belvedere and gives it a wider catchment than a pure fish-and-chips counter would carry on this end of the road. Trade is split between collection from the surrounding residential streets — the Lower Road parade backs onto the Picardy estate and the housing redevelopments north of Picardy Manorway — and delivery via Just Eat and the other aggregators across the immediate Belvedere, Erith and Abbey Wood postcodes. Reviews on the major sites are modest but consistent, with the chippy holding a regular trade among the families on the surrounding estates.
