Three menus share one kitchen here. The Classic Chippy Menu keeps things traditional with cod, battered sausage, chips and curry or gravy; a breakfast board runs baps and omelettes; and between them sits Gastro Fried Chicken, the house brand that gives the place its shape. GFC covers tower, BBQ mixer and high-spice burgers, wings plain, BBQ or spicy, popcorn chicken, strips and on-the-bone pieces, plus a wrap loaded with fries, cheese, chicken and chicken gravy. Less expected is Gastro Noodles — sticky chicken, sweet and sour plum, black bean with garlic and ginger, salt and chilli, teriyaki, and a beef and broccoli — a short Asian section grafted onto a chip shop. Family boxes scale the fried chicken up into BBQ, spicy and boneless formats topped by the Gastro Giant. Sides lean modern: dirty fries, pizza fries, nachos, peri peri onion rings and chilli coleslaw. Homemade burgers include vegan and veggie builds.
